The system includes transmitting data from a first piece of equipment (TE) to a receiver in a second piece of equipment (TR). Intermediate equipment on the receiving side offsets (30) the binary data output as a function of the data error. The data error represents the quality of the data received at the intermediate equipment level. The data is transmitted in frames and the quality is measured by a code controller according to the number of frames determined as incorrect by the code control processing at each intermediate level. The error information is transmitted between the intermediate equipment, allowing bad reception at particular stages to be noted.
