PURPOSE: To provide a method for controlling ink supply with high accuracy even by extending usability. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling ink supply comprises the steps of detecting a differential ink density spectrum from ink density spectrum of an image position of an original and an image position of a print duplicate, representing the differential ink density spectrum as a linear combination function of individual ink-color density spectrum used for lap printing, and detecting a regulating command to an ink supply mechanism of a printer from a proportional factors of the linear combination function.
