The hydrostatic motor of this invention includes a fluid pressure unit having a stator and a rotor. The rotor includes a cylinder block containing a plurality of radially disposed cylinder bores therein. At one end, close to the axis of the rotor's rotation, each of those cylinders is connected to a corresponding bore extending substantially in axial direction. Therefore, the center lines of the outlets of all bores are disposed on the same pitch diameter on the front face of the cylinder block. On this front face a distribution face of the cylinder block is provided containing said outlets. A lobed cam ring is fixed to the stator. Each cylinder bore houses a roller abutting the cam ring and thereby reciprocating a piston radially within the bore in response to the lobes of the cam ring. A control device is provided as a part of the stator. A distribution face of the control device interacts with the outlets in a side face of the cylinder such that the hydraulic separating forces are hydraulically compensated for. The compensation is provided by pressurized, preferably annular-shaped areas on the control device which are further delimited in an axial direction by an adjacent counterpart. The counterpart is held in position against the separating forces and is secured to the rotor for rotation therewith.
