BLOOD SUGAR REDUCING AGENT

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a blood sugar reducing agent composed of a chemical component having the strongest blood sugar reducing effect among components isolated from a crude extract of a Japanese green gentian (Swertia japonica MAKINO). CONSTITUTION:A water-insoluble extract (EtOAc-soluble fraction) is separated from a crude extract of a Japanese green gentian (Swertia japonica MAKINO) and its relative congeneric plant and a substance isolated from the water- insoluble extract and having a structure similar to bellidifolin which belongings to xanthones is used as the objective blood sugar reducing agent.
