<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a honeycomb adsorbent excellent in adsorbing performance for various hydrocarbons and odorous gas and excellent in strength, formability, resistance against dry cracking, etc., by incorporating specified amts. of zeolite source material, specified heat-resistant aggregate and hydrating curing agent. CONSTITUTION:This honeycomb adsorbent consists of 20-60wt.% zeolite source material to the whole amt., 5-250wt.% heat-resistant aggregate having 5-50mum average particle diameter to the amt. of zeolite source material and by 30-70wt.% to the whole amt., and 10-40wt.% hydrating curing agent to the whole amt. The adsorbent is produced, for example, by the following method. First, an inorg. or org. molding assistant is added and kneaded in a dry state in a kneader with the zeolite source material of the adsorbent, hydrating alumina as a curing agent and heat-resistant aggregate as a fluidity controlling material. Water is added to the mixture, which is further kneaded and extruded into a honeycomb body. The obtd. honeycomb molded body is subjected to specified hydraulic treatment, dried in air or by blowing hot air to remove the water content, and then subjected to specified calcination to remove the org. molding assistant. Thus, the honeycomb adsorbent is obtd.</p> |
