PURPOSE:To provide an ultraviolet curable hard coating agent excellent in hardness, adhesiveness, scratch resistance, solvent resistance, moisture resistance, dyeability, etc., and useful for coating plastic optical articles, etc., by compounding a specific functional compound mixture, a colloidal metal oxide, a photopolymerization initiator, and an Al compound. CONSTITUTION:This coating agent comprises (A) the hydrolysate of a (meth) acrylic functional silane of formula I [R<1> is H, CH3; R<2> is 3-6C divalent organic group; R<3>, R<4> are (substituted) monovalent hydrocarbon group; a is 0-2], (B) the hydrolysate of an epoxy functional silane of formula II (b is 0-2), (C) a multifunctional (meth)acrylate of formula III (R<5> is the residue of a polyhydric alcohol, the residue of a polyhydric alcohol-polybasic acid ester; c is >=2 which is the valency of the residue of R<5>, (E) a photopolymerization initiator such as benzoin, and (F) an Al compound such as AlCl3.6H2O. |
