PURPOSE:To provide the digital speech recording and reproducing device which is generally usable even if the device is for keeping digital speech data secret. CONSTITUTION:This digital speech recording and reproducing device is equipped with an AD converter 3 which converts an analog speech signal into digital speech data, a ciphering circuit 5 which converts the digital speech data into ciphered data, a key number setting circuit 7 which sets a key number for ciphering, a speech memory part 15 wherein the ciphered digital speech data or the digital speech data before being ciphered are recorded, a deciphering circuit 12 which reads the digital speech data out of the speech memory part 15 and restores the data to the normal digital speech data according to the key number, a DA converter 10 which converts the deciphered digital speech data into the analog speech signal, and switches 4, 6, 11, and 13 which select a state where the ciphering and deciphering processes are performed and a state where they are not performed. |
