PURPOSE:To provide a coin-type lithium battery with high capacity and excellent discharging properties at low cost by extruding the center part of a negative electrode pellet or a positive electrode pellet of a coin-type lithium battery into a curved face and elastically deforming an battery case along the curved face. CONSTITUTION:Regarding a coin-type lithium battery having a negative electrode pellet and a positive electrode pellet which are made of lithium or a lithium alloy, set on the opposite to each other while sandwiching a separator, and put in a battery case; the center part of at least one of the negative electrode pellet and the positive electrode pellet is extruded into a curved face and the battery case is elastically deformed along the curved face. In the battery, the contacting condition of the negative electrode and the positive electrode is kept, so that the rise of the inner resistance in a discharge terminal stage can be effectively suppressed. The discharge capacity is also kept and the rise of the inner resistance in the second half stage of discharge is effectively suppressed by setting the total height of the peripheral parts of the negative electrode pellet and the positive electrode pellet to be less by 4-12% than that in the center parts. |
