<p>PURPOSE:To attain high speed processing by executing difference absolute value accumulation processing in parallel, thereby reducing the capacity of a signal buffer for arithmetic operation. CONSTITUTION:An image block of interest is stored in a noted image memory 11, an image signal of a retrieval area is stored in a retrieval area memory 12 and extracted for each line and compared while being shifted. Thus, the accumulation value is obtained at once at plural positions by using difference absolute value accumulators 16-1-16-(2r+1) whose number is equal to number of reference image blocks taken in the line direction with respect to the retrieval area. The memory capacity used to store image signal for the image block of interest and the retrieval area is sufficiently reduced and a minimum number of the difference absolute value accumulators is prepared to execute the arithmetic operation processing for detecting a moving vector.</p> |
