Moulding of parts from two or more thermoplastic materials

Prodn. of a part in thermoplastic materials in a mould by (i) placing a set quantity of a first thermoplastic (11) at places in the mould corresponding to predetermined parts of the piece; (ii) adding a second thermoplastic (12) around the first in sufficient quantity to make the whole piece. The addition of the second material is such as not to displace the first within the mould. Partic. the first material (-11) is loaded with reinforcing fibres or reinforcing fabric and located in the mould corresponding to areas of the finished part needing mechanical reinforcement.
