INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To confirm a message later by converting a caller's voice message into a text by a telephone responding system when a storage capacity is insufficient, and transferring it to the electronic mail-in basket of a receiver. CONSTITUTION: In a telephone system 200, each telephone set 205 is connected with a PB×210 which is also connected with a public telephone line 215 and a main frame computer. A general processor 220 in the PB×210 communicates with the computer according to telephone answering system(TAS) software stored in an ROM 225 or a microcode 230. The TAS responds to a caller from one telephone set 205 to the other telephone set 205, and performs the reproduction and recording of a voice message. When the storage capacity of the message for responding to the caller is fully occupied, the TAS converts the voice message into a text, and transfers it to the electronic mail-in-basket of a receiver. Thus, the message can be confirmed by the mail later.
