A needle indicating speedometer for a car has a needle (3), a movement (2) and a front face (4) formed from a dial (10) so that the needle (3) is flush with the outer of the dial. The dial (4) is formed with a central depression (7) to allow the needle (3) to be flush with the outer edge (9). The dial is polycarbonate and the indicators (10, 12) are printed on it.
