PURPOSE:To obtain a method of manufacturing hexagonal ferrite fine particles suitable for high dense magnetic recording, high-performance permanent magnet, and magnetic fiber. CONSTITUTION:A material mixture of glass formation material and hexagonal ferrite component is fused together, and the melt is quickly cooled down into an amorphous body. The amorphous body is thermally treated at temperatures higher than a glass transition point to enable hexagonal ferrite fine particles to grow in it, and then the remainder component other than hexagonal ferrite fine particles is removed in a glass crystallization method, wherein the amorphous body is controlled so as to be 0.1emu/g to 2emu/g in magnetization. |
