PURPOSE:To keep the life of a rubbing member equal to that of a machine main body by making the initial abutting point of the rubbing member on a developer carrier on the end part of the upstream side in the rubbing direction larger than that on the end part of the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:This one-component developing device is constituted of a magnetic field generating means fixed in the developer carrier 6, a developer supplying means supplying one-component magnetic toner 3 to the developer carrier 6 and a developer regulating member 7 disposed in the developer supplying means and pressed to contact with the periphery of the developer carrier 6. The developer regulating member 7 is made of a spring material and a rubbing 8 rubbing the periphery of the developer carrier 6 and made of a rubber material is stuck to the top end part of the regulating member 7. When the initial abutting point of the rubbing member 8 on the developer carrier 6 is defined as P and the end parts on the upstream and downstream sides in the rubbing direction are defined as (a) and (b) respectively, aP<bP is set. Moreover, when the width in the rubbing direction of the rubbing member 8 is defined as omega, the plate thickness of the rubbing member 8 is defined as (t) and the radius of the developer carrier 6 is defined as rho, omega >=10t and rho>omega are set. |
