To control the additional suspension flow through the lock, at the stock inlet of a papermaking machine, each lock (1) has a moving valve (8) in a distribution chamber (4) to alter its vol., together with a valve seat (7). The valve positioning unit (12) is between a fixed frame (15) for the lock and the valve, with a heater (13) to give a length change by expansion or contraction, to place the valve in relation to its seat. Pref. the valve (8) has a paraboloid profile (9) from a centre point (10). The inner wall of the chamber (4) is cylindrical to its upper section, ending in a lower concave section at the opening of the valve seat (7). The valve positioning unit (12) is a thermal expansion system within a fixed frame (15) at a fixed upper mounting (17). It lies within an inner frame (15) sleeve with a coolant fluid.
