<p>PURPOSE: To provide a disk driving device preventing the occurrence of a damage owing to a shock and off track errors. CONSTITUTION: An accelerometer device 42 is fitted to the disk driving device and the disk driving device detects that it is in the middle of dropping from first height to second height. A vector addition circuit 44 in a processor 52 adds vectors ax , ay and az showing acceleration and the net acceleration anet of the disk driving device is generated. The net, acceleration anet is compared in a comparator 46. When the net acceleration anet exceeds an acceleration threshold level aTL, a first signal FS is outputted to a timer 48. When the maintaining time of the first signal is more than reference time period tref an alarm signal WS is outputted from the timer 48 to a controller 50. The controller 50 makes a storage disk and an actuator prepare for a time when the disk driving device collides with second height.</p> |
