PURPOSE:To attain data transmission with high reliability by the minimum cost increase only. CONSTITUTION:A transmission earth station 1 sends a digital signal to a reception earth station 10 via a communication satellite and sends the digital signal to a satellite communication auxiliary station 5 via a ground line L1. When part of the digital signal received by a reception earth station 10 has an error and a transfer request signal requesting re-transmission of the digital signal of said part is sent to the satellite communication auxiliary station 5 via a ground line L2, the satellite communication auxiliary station 5 uses a re- transmission controller 8 to read the digital signal from a memory 7 when said part is correctly received and the read signal is sent to the reception earth station 10 via a ground line L2'.
