PURPOSE:To provide a sight-line detection device which can shorten the time required for main storing operation at the time of eye sight detection. CONSTITUTION:Preliminary storing operation and main storing operation for finding peak values of an image sensor in respective column and row directions and mean values of pixels in respective divided blocks are started at the same time and the main storing operation is continuously performed even after the preliminary storing operation ends; and the preliminarily stored is read out nondestructively and simultaneously with the main storing operation to find the peak values and the mean values of pixels in the blocks. The peak values and the mean values of the pixels in the blocks are used to perform AGC operation such as the setting of the storage time of the main storing operation during the main storing operation. Further, the main storing operation is started right after AGC storing operation and the read of the image signal, and the AGC operation such as the setting of the storage time of the main storing operation is performed during the main storing operation. |
