PURPOSE:To provide a support device which supports the main reflecting mirror of a reflecting telescope so that the main reflecting mirror is neither broken nor damaged by being collided against nearby other structure when switching large owing to an earthquake, etc. CONSTITUTION:Plural subordinate support bases 15 are provided at the outer peripheral part of the main reflecting mirror 11 supported on a support base 12 through support structure 13. An elastic buffer member 16 is arranged between the those subordinate support bases 15 and main reflecting mirror 11. If the main reflecting mirror 11 moves to a position 11' shown by an alternate long and short dash owing to an earthquake, it abuts on this buffer member 16 and its shock is relieved. Further, more movement of the main reflecting mirror is suppressed and the main reflecting mirror is prevented from being collided against other structure. |
