PURPOSE:To provide a multi-dimensional image operating device which exels in the operability and can easily select a subject. CONSTITUTION:The multi-dimensional image operating device is provided with a means which displays a three-dimensional cursor 6 capable of a three- dimensional movement on an operating window 5, a viewfield-shaped display means which displays the viewfield area seen in front of the cursor 6 in a three-dimensional shape 7 connected to the tip of the cursor 6, a viewfield area display means which displays the three-dimensional virtual space projected on the viewfield area on a viewfield window 11 using a part of the window 5, and a selection index display means which displays a selection index 12 on the viewfield window 11, a subject 8 shown on the viewfield window 11 is selected by the index 12 and the cursor 6 is moved in a state where the relation is kept among the selected subject 8, the shape 7 showing the viewfield area and the cursor 6, thereby, the selected subject 8 is moved. A scene showing the tip of the cursor 6 through the three-dimensional virtual space is projected on the window 11. The index 12 is set to the subject 8 and this subject is selected while seeing the viewfield window.
