PURPOSE:To generate a stereo image stored, sent, displayed through efficient compression without causing deterioration in picture quality with simple configuration. CONSTITUTION:Interleave circuits 15, 16 interleave number of scanning lines of left and right image signals to a half, a difference arithmetic circuit 17 calculates a difference between an output image of the interleave circuit 15 and an output image of the interleave circuit 16 to generate a difference image. Then a synthesized image based on the output image of the interleave circuit 15 or the output of the interleave circuit 16 is generated by using a field memory 18. |
