PURPOSE:To freely change a symbol inserting character position in a text even at the time of symbol selection by dividing a display screen into a text display area and a symbol display area and performing display. CONSTITUTION:When key input from a symbol key 3 is present, the display screen of a liquid crystal display 8 is divided into the upper and lower two stages of the symbol display area 8A and the text display area 8B. When the key input from right and left cursor keys 4 is present, a symbol cursor C is moved in the symbol display area 8A. When a shift key 5 and the right and left cursor keys 4 are simultaneously pressed, a text cursor C is moved in the text display area 8B. Then, when a return key R is separately pressed, after a selected symbol is inserted before a character position where the text cursor C is present and the symbol is insertion-processed, the text composed by the insertion processing of the symbol is displayed on the liquid crystal display 8. |
