PURPOSE:To provide the fading distortion compensator which can compensate fading distortion with high accuracy and is suitable for demodulating mobile object communication. CONSTITUTION:Concerning the fading distortion compensator provided with distortion value detecting parts 8-11 for detecting the distortion of pilot symbols at the respective sub carriers of communication to use a multi-carrier and time base interpolating parts 13-16 for estimating the distortion of information symbols at the respective sub carriers, this device is provided with a distortion estimating means 12 for estimating the size of distortion at each sub carrier as the first-order function of the average value or frequency of a detected value corresponding to the conditions of reception based on the detected value of distortion simultaneously detected by the distortion value detecting parts 8-11 and for presenting the distortion estimated value to the time base interpolating parts. The estimating method is suitably switched corresponding to the environment of reception. When the distortion value of the pilot symbol is detected at a certain sub carrier, the distortion estimating part estimates the distortion value at the remaining sub carriers and presents it to the time base interpolating parts, the quantity of information to be utilized for the time base interpolating parts is increased and the high-accuracy fading distortion compensation can be executed. |
