<p>PURPOSE: To fuse a toner picture with high thermal energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A visco-elastic member 104 simultaneously operates as a heat source and a surface for supplying uniform pressure for guiding softened toner into the structure of a copy sheet 110. Heat is generated in the visco-elastic material 104 and a toner substance by attenuating the acoustic energy of an acoustic transducer 100 giving vibration to the back of the sheet 110. The toner picture which is not fused yet on the surface of paper is mechanically captured by a pressure roller 112 between the copy sheet 110 and the surface of the visco-elastic material 104 for preventing the scattering of toner particles. When heat energy generated in the visco-elastic material 104 is shifted to the toner, the toner is softened and fused and pushed into the sheet 110 owing to normal force generated by an acoustic horn chip for depressing the back of the sheet 110.</p> |
