<p>PURPOSE: To provide an excellent flexibility and to more simplify the constitution to reduce the constitution cost by detecting light reflected from a target and transmitting a signal indicating the detected light. CONSTITUTION: A scanner 100 includes a laser diode 112, a spherical lens 114, a scan module 118, and detectors 120 and 128. The laser diode 112 and the detector 128 are attached on a laser submount 126 used as a support base. The scan module 118 is attached on a slope part 123 and intercepts and reflects a laser beam from the laser diode 112. While the scanner 100 is operated, the scan module 118 scans the laser beam across the target in one direction. When this laser beam is scanned across a bar code, the detector 120 detects divergent light indicating a light area of the bar code and transmits a signal corresponding to this light. Thus, the bar code is read.</p> |
