PURPOSE: To provide an electric terminal applicator with a system for effectively producing the divisional cycle motion of its press-fitting die means. CONSTITUTION: An electric terminal applicator 10 is used for press-fitting terminals 24 to an electric wire. An applicator frame 12 is mounted with a movable applicator ram, which is adapted to be driven by a press ram along the path A for the working stroke toward a press-fitting anvil 22 or the return stroke away from it. The applicator has press-fitting dies 18 and 20, which cooperate with the anvil in press-fitting the terminals partly to an electric wire in the working stroke of the applicator ram. The frame 12 is directly mounted with a pneumatic piston/cylinder device 110, which is located near the applicator ram and is connected to the dies 18 and 20 to move the first movable portions of the dies until they come into engagement with terminals yet to be press-fit and to set those terminals in place in advance for press-fitting. |
