PURPOSE:To perform tracking operation considering a driving stop period associated with mirror-up operation by calculating an amount concerning a predicted locus obtained by shifting the locus of an image-formation surface associated with the movement of an object by a specified amount. CONSTITUTION:A correction means 100 receives output from a focal distance detection means 101 and output from a monitor means 103 and calculates a correction driving amount for tracking the object, and a control means 102 drives a lens so as to track the object based on the calculated amount. The correction means 100 decides the specified shift amount in relation to the moving amount of the image-formation surface associated with the movement of the object in the period when lens driving is stopped by braking just before exposing film. A lens driving means is controlled based on the predicted locus obtained by shifting the focus of the image-formation surface by the specified amount, and processing in relation to the mirror-up and the stop of the lens driving is performed when the specified image-formation surface is on the predicted locus, whereby the specified image-formation surface is aligned with the locus of the image-formation surface in the midst of exposing the film, and photographing in focus is performed. |
