SUPERCONDUCTIVE MAGNET DEVICE, ITS CRYOGENIC TANK SUPPORT DEVICE, AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To provide a support device which is capable of stably retaining a clamping force for a compressive load at cryogenic temperatures for a long time and a method of manufacturing it. CONSTITUTION:A cryogenic tank support device is composed of a rod 5 which is of unidirectional fibers and extended so as to bridge a space between a cryogenic tank 2 and the inner wall of a vacuum chamber 3, a cryogenic tank fitting 6 which is fixed to the cryogenic tank 2 and possessed of an outward tapered hole where the the one end of the rod 5 is inserted, a vacuum chamber fitting 7 which is fixed to the inner wall of the vacuum tank 3 and possessed of an outward tapered hole where the other end of the rod 5 is inserted, a conical core pressure-fitted into the rod 5 along the direction of fibers through the end of the rod 5, and a pressing means which presses the conical core.
