CABLE CONNECTORS FOR TELEPHONE HANDSETS

A connector for securing an armoured cover reinforcing flexible electric wires between a handset and telephone receiver housing is described. The connector (1) comprises an elbow with an extending bush made in two halves (2, 3). The elbow has a radial passage (4) with integrally formed gripping projections (5) which grip one end of an armoured flexible cord cover (6). A reinforcing wire or lanyard (7) with an end nipple (8) passes inside the cord cover (6) and is secured at each end to provide a reinforcing wire against any axial force along the length of the cover (6). The nipple (8) is held in the elbow with the interposition of a wire guard (10) positioned between the elbow and half-bush. The half-bush is located in a hole in the housing (11) and is held in position by a spring-clip (12) located in a groove (13) formed in the half-bush (2, 3).
