The mechanical blocking device (13) has a 'U' shape form with a cap element (15) that fits over the pins of an electrical power plug. The device is secured in position by an element with a key operated lock. This fits around the connecting cable and engages projections (26) on the blocking device. An alternative blocking device has a large projecting pin instead of a cap.
