The pallet has pivoted flaps at the entry side. The flaps permit input from outside, but in the other direction they are held in the locked position by locks, preventing through passage. The pallet has input pockets (3,3a). There may be a lock only on one of these on one side, or on both on one side, or on one on each side, or on all of them. The flap on the rear input pocket is on a pivot at the top. It hangs in front of the input aperture on an attachment (5), locking it in one direction. The flaps are arranged to permit the required passage of the forks of a fork lift truck. The flaps may be on sprung pivots.
