Hydraulically damped engine mounting

The engine mounting has an elastomer block (3) between the mounting base and the top of the mounting. A space inside the elastomer block is filled with hydraulic fluid and forms a working chamber, and is linked to an expansion chamber (8) by a flow restriction. The flow restriction is provided by a movable insert (5) with elastic mounting inside the structure. The expansion chamber is bounded by a flexible wall on the one side and by the movable insert (5) on the other side. The flow restriction is provided through the insert, or between the insert and the containing walls of the assembly.
