The invention concerns a line, in particular a fishing line, consisting of a core (10) and a sheath (20) surrounding the core (10). Both the core (10) and sheath (20) are made up of high-strength filaments (11, 12, 21, 22). The filaments (21, 22) forming the sheath are wound round the core (10). The bundle of filaments (11, 12, 21, 22) is bonded together preferably by a fusion-adhesive yarn (19) laid essentially parallel to the filaments (11, 12) forming the core (10). This enables a fishing line to be produced which meets the most demanding requirements and yet is inexpensive. Forming the sheath (20) by winding filaments round the core (10) and then bonding offers considerable cost savings over the prior art method of braiding the sheath over the core. |
