Welding shield or protector

A welding facemask has a full-angle transparent visor plus relatively swivelling protector complete with ray filter. This protective part comes in bow form and is made of the same material as the ray filter (3) and is pref. in helmet form and made of transparent plastics material. A coating on the helmet surface blocks light rays in one direction but is transparent in the other direction. The visor (1) is made of dark-tinted material and has a frontally mounted protective plate (5) which is made of the same material as the visor and is transparent, or again is made of the same material as the ray filter. The head is turned slightly as welding starts so that the eyes are directed onto the weld location through the filter (3), leaving hands free for wire or rod feed, etc.
