Damping control valve suspension strut

The damping control for the suspension strut has flow ducts through the damping piston fitted with control valves. The main flow control valve (23) is bridged by a small flow opening (23d) leading to a small flow rate control valve (21) in series with the main valve. This small flow valve has a single plate element (21a) held onto the valve seat by a single cup spring (21d). The small flow rate control valve operates at small to medium flow rates and supplements the main valve control. The main valve is operated by a much stronger spring (23a). The two springs are arranged in series or each valve element is located onto a separate valve stop. The small flow opening through the main valve seat provides sufficient flow to match the small valve characteristics.
