A stop (283, fig. 3) can be positioned in the bread toaster, which limits the movement path of the toasting heat bodies (32, 32', 33) to each other. The stop is positionable by the assuming of the roll warming up position of the support grid (18). The stop in the warming up operational position allows a smallest movement path of the toasting heating bodies (32, 32', 33), pref. approximately 5 mm. The bread roll supporting grid (18) is allocated fixed to the bread toaster.
