A slide surface (10) which accepts the medium (11) on its toner image side is bounded in the paper feed direction by an end edge (13) which enables the paper feed to change to a defined direction. A profile structure in the vicinity of this edge collects fouling particles carried along with the medium. The profile structure contains a collection surface (15) and an end edge surface (14) which intersects the slide surface from behind, whereby the end edge surface and deflection direction of the medium enclose an angle (N) of 90 deg. or greater in the vicinity of the end edge. The particle collection surface is arranged at a distance (T) below the end edge and parallel to the deflection direction. The end edge surface and collection surface enclose an acute angle, whose apex is the intersection edge of the end edge surface and collection surface.
