The drive unit has a circuit provided for operating the clutch (9,8) for the cooling fan (7). It is designed in such a manner that the drive of the servo steering system takes priority, and the cooling fan (7) is switched off, if the servo steering system requires power. The clutch for the cooling fan is coupled or decoupled across a solenoid (20). The clutch is provided with a free running system (8). The free running system can be operated hydraulically or electrically.
