<p>A sleeving material (10) for film archiving includes first and second flexible, translucent, continuous webs (12, 13) secured together to form multiple film receiving pockets (24), each pocket (24) having an opening adjacent to one of the lateral edges (14, 15). The webs (12, 13) are perforated at tear-off lines (16) evenly spaced along the webs (12, 13) such that the tear-off lines (16) organize the pockets (24) into sheets (18). Each sheet (18) has archiving retention features, which can take the form of 1) punched or cut holes (32) integrally formed in the webs (12, 13), or 2) channels shaped to receive conventional hanging file hangers. In addition, each sheet (18) includes a printed header (28) on which identifying material can be written and sensor marks (30) aligned with the pockets (24) to indicate the location of the respective pockets (24) for a film loading device. Continuous web converting methods are disclosed for fabricating this sleeving material (10).</p> |
