By reacting cyanuric halides with organopolysiloxanes containing primary amino groups in substituents, organopolysiloxanes can be obtained in which two polysiloxane chains are linked via a divalent radical. The divalent radical contains 1,3,5-triazine rings to which a halogen atom is also bonded. The organopolysiloxanes obtained in this way are suitable for softening fibre materials. In particular, textile fabrics containing cellulose fibres can thus be provided with a soft hand (handle), the permanency of the finishing effects during washing processes being very good.
