Profiled rubber strips (1, 5) are butt jointed together by coating the free ends (4, 6) in heated thermoplastic (7, 8) and bringing into contact before cooling. Pref. rubber profiles are made of EPDM and the thermoplastic is polyethylene. Faces (4, 6) to be joined are preheated and the thermoplastic layers (7, 8) are applied on a plate. |
