It is an object of the present invention to enable the continual registration of the power supplied to a shaft, from an engine. The present invention provides a measuring element for measuring the power supplied to a rotating shaft comprising: a number of first holes for receiving first securing elements by which the element is securable to a first shaft part; a number of second holes for receiving second securing elements by which the measuring element is securable to a second shaft part opposite the first shaft part; and a number of strain gauges nearby the first and second holes for supplying an electric signal which is a measure of the torque exerted on the measuring element. <IMAGE>
