PURPOSE: To divide interior of book in a stable manner by a device wherein a book or the interior thereof is pressed against a dividing member to divide the interior at the central portion thereof, a bluntly formed blade is provided on the forward end of a dividing member, while a nozzle is provided on the front stage of the blade to blow off air against an end of the interior. CONSTITUTION: In a bookbinding machine, particularly a device for a casing-in machine, a book or the interior 1 thereof being carried by a conveying device 7 is pressed against a dividing member 2 to divide the interior at its central portion. The interior 1 is conveyed by being guided by a guide roller 8 and fed onto a transfer board 6. A dividing tip end 3 having a bluntly formed blade 4 is attached to the member 2. At the front stage of the member 2, a nozzle 5 is disposed to blow off compressed air against an end of the interior 1. Thus, even if the interior comprises thick sheets, the interior can be divided at the central portion thereof in a stable manner, without damage thereto. |
