METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPREGNATING CYLINDRICAL HONEYCOMB BODY AS DEFINED USING IMPREGNATING SOLUTION

PURPOSE: To coat a catalytically active component on a covered honeycomb structure inhomogeneously in transverse and vertical directions by spraying an impregnating solution directly in flow channels by using an injecting cannula. CONSTITUTION: The honeycomb structure 7 has two cross sections which are difined in an arranging direction perpendicular to an axis of a cylindrical body and the flow channels 8 which are parallel to the axis of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical honeycomb structure 7 of such a type that the flow channels 8 are arranged across the cross section of the honey comb structure 7 in a laster is impregnated in a difined manner by using the impregnating solution. In this method, the impregnating solution is introduced into the flow channels 8 by using the injecting cannula 3 and is sprayed on the spot. As a result, the covered honeycomb structure can be coated with the catalytically active component inhomogeneously in transverse and vertical directions.
