PURPOSE: To improve notification to an operator away from a machine requiring assist by detecting a plurality of machine states related to an image forming operation, judging whether or not it is a state to be notified to a plurality of remote places, and automatically starting notification. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia apparatus information system or network 2 includes a predetermined workstation 4 and also includes a copying machine 5, a keyboard 6, a mouse 7, a microphone 8 and a video camera 9, etc. Moreover, the system includes a display terminal 10, a printer 11 and a speaker 12. An input/output apparatus includes a facsimile 13, a file server 14 and a telephone 15. On the other hand, the workstation 4 is connected to the other system via a LAN 24, a gate way 25 and a modem 26. In this case, a plurality of machine states related to an image forming operation of the copying machine is detected, and at the same time, whether or not it is a state to be notified to a plurality of remote places is judged and notification is automatically started. |
