PURPOSE: To minimize influence on patients by assuring the same amount and composition of respiration gas after extracting sample gas as those before extracting the sample gas. CONSTITUTION: Gas expired from a patient is returned through an inspiration line 6 to a ventilation device 2 and then released to the air. A gas analyzer 8 is connected to a common inspiration/expiration line 9, through which respiration gas is supplied from an inspiration line 4 to the patient and expiration gas from the patient is fed to the expiration line 6. The gas analyzer 8 extracts gas sample from the common inspiration/expiration line 9 through an extraction line 10. At the same time, replacement gas is fed through a supply line 12 to the common inspiration/expiration line 9. |
