PURPOSE:To facilitate connection to a runner and to prevent degradation in a filter function by clogging of coat mold and intrusion of slag into a casting. CONSTITUTION:The entire part of the surface of the ceramic filter 1 including a connecting part 17 to the runner exclusive of a flow surface 15 of molten metal is coated with an adhesive material or solidifying material. Adhesion to the lost wax runner 13 is made possible in the coated part. Intrusion of the mold coat into the gap parts of the ceramic filter at the time of mold coating does not arise with the ceramic filter 1 integrated with the runner 13 and there is no worry about clogging of the ceramic filter 1. There is no possibility that the sand or mold coat enters in the molten metal as impurities at the time of pouring. Production of product castings having high quality is thus possible. |
