<p>PURPOSE:To detect a small damage of a transport pipe easily and accurately by spirally winding a light transmission body with fluid in a transmission pipe and a member for causing heat build-up reaction at an outer periphery around the transport pipe and then detecting the heat build-up. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 which is wound spirally around a fluid transport pipe 2 is connected to a detection circuit 3 and a light source 4. In this fiber 1, a fiber wire core 1a is covered with polyethylene sheath 1b and the outer layer is covered with a water-absorption reaction layer 1c, and further the outer layer is covered with a porous sheath 1d. Then, when the transport 2 is damased and water leaks, the sheath 1d absorbs the leaked water and reacts with the reaction layer 1c, thus causing the reaction layer 1c to release heat. Therefore, the temperature/position of a part reaching a hicrh temperature are detected by a detection circuit 3 and a signal processing circuit 5 and the degree of damage of the transport pipe 3 and the water-leakage position can be visually inspected by a monitor 6. A damage detection type pipe can be configured by spirally winding the fiber 1 around the transport pipe 2, fixing it on the surface of the transport pipe 2, or burying it in the inner periphery and outer periphery of the transport pipe 2.</p> |
