PURPOSE:To obtain a herbicidal composition for paddy field capable of manifesting high effects in a small dose of a chemical by ultrahigh synergisms and precisely controlling important weeds in the paddy field for a long period by treatment at a time. CONSTITUTION:This herbicidal composition for paddy field contains (A) a furobenzopyran derivative expressed by the formula [R1 is a lower alkyl; R2 is a (halogen-substituted) lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or a halogen; R3 is a (halogen-substituted) lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy, a halogen, phenoxy or benzyloxy; R4 is H or a lower alkyl; (m) and (n) each is 0-4], e.g. (2R,3S,3aS,9 bR)-2-ethyl-3-(2-fluorobenzyloxy-3,3a,5,9b-tetrahydro-2H-furo[3,2-c][2 ]benzopyran and (B) alpha-(beta-naphthoxy)propionanilide in an amount of 1-100 pts.wt. based on 1 pts.wt. ingredient (A). The composition is effectively used in all the treating methods such as water-logged soil, soil, soil layer mixing and foliar application treatments, and the use thereof in the water-logged soil treatment is particularly preferred. |
