FLUOROPLASTIC COATED STEEL PANEL AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive fluoroplastic coated steel panel excellent in adhesion by forming a heat-fusible layer of an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resin film on the surface of a Zn-Al alloy plated steel panel through a chromate treatment layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible layer of an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (hereinbelow referred to as ETFE) resin film is formed on the surface of a steel panel plated with a Zn-Al alloy containing 20-80wt.% of Al through a chromate treatment layer to form a fluoroplastic coated steel panel. This fluoroplastic coated steel panel is produced by heating a substrate steel panel on which the heat-fusible layer must be formed to the m.p. of the ETFE resin film to bond the same to the surface of the steel panel under pressure and heating the steel panel to which the ETFE resin film is bonded under pressure to the temp. range from the m.p. of the ETFE resin film to the thermal decomposition temp. thereof to form the heat-fusible layer of the ETFE resin film. As a result, the fluoroplastic coated steel panel excellent in film adhesion can be obtained.
